Let’s dive into our interview with Linda Bloor, Senior Account Manager and David Asker, Creative Director at Cyon, who share insights into the hurdles they overcame, showcasing the evolution from initial struggles to seamless email creation and approval.

Before we dive into our interview, could you share a little about what you do at Cyon?

Linda: We are a company that works on many different things for many different large companies. We do video, emails, massive, large campaigns for clients. 

David: Part of my responsibilities is to creatively lead key accounts. Part of that is email templates, landing pages, digital online campaigns.

What is the process of creating emails for your clients?

Linda: We’ve sort of created a partnership with them (Stronde). So we have a very large client for which we do all the designs.

The emails are delivered on time (with Stronde for Email) and they are built how we need them to be, in Eloqua. They are also implemented based on the (email) design. They’re pretty well matched; the fonts and colourings. So that is perfect for us. We don’t have to test them, because they’re already tested. So it’s a fully rounded experience really.

David: So, currently, once we receive the brief from the client, our process is to understand that brief, understand what the objectives are, and line it into a template which is on-brand. Also, we just want to understand the key objectives, whether it be an asset download or call to action. 

How was the email creation process before Stronde for Email?

Linda: Previously, we worked on emails, just standard HTML, which is really good. It fits the brief, but our clients want to go bigger and better. Before Stronde for Email, the email creation was taking us more time internally. The cost was a little bit more expensive and the turnaround time was a little bit longer. So, we’re much happier where we are now.

How easy is to review the emails created and share feedback, using the collaboration feature?

Linda: It is very easy to share feedback and review the emails. So I will get a link through, that I can easily check through, I can go against my designs, just like for like. The process of feedback is really straightforward as well. So all in all, it’s a really streamlined approach.  

David: The collaboration feature is super useful for us, mainly because it doesn’t mean that we have to set up a call to run through. I can review it in my own time, and just being able to see it there in desktop and mobile view, and being able to visually compare it to the creatives that we’ve sent across, is a really good and useful function for us. 

From our point of view, it’s really easy to use and we’re able to obviously see how it responds from desktop to mobile. It’s super easy to add any comments, design-wise or functionality-wise. And from our point of view, if it’s approved as it is, which is often the case, we can easily just check that off. 

Linda, what is one thing you love about Stronde for Email? 

Linda: I really love working with Stronde for Email on our emails, because the emails are always optimized in the way that we need them to be. So, they’re mobile-optimized and desktop-optimized. So that’s all covered.

Can you also share if your clients are happy with the emails you deliver to them?  

Linda: I’ve had no complaints. They’re very happy. They keep sending more and more. So, I think the proof’s in the pudding. If there were problems, we would have heard about them. There were no problems. It is going really well. 

Just a last question for you – how could you describe the Stronde for Email support team? 

Linda: They’re really good. I’ve never had any issues with the Stronde for Email team. They communicate everything that I need. They come back with all these questions, or answers that I need. And they’ll always be giving me some value add to every project I work on.
